WARNING: Some of these documents (Paper stealth) will require to set the memory partition of Mac Write or whatever to a large number (3MB)
WHAT IT IS: Read My Lips is an INIT.
INSTALLATION: Throw in System Folder and reboot.
WHAT IT DOES: Read My Lips allows to attach sounds to graphical info (pictures) that are pasted either in Mac Write, Mac Write II, or Microsoft Word.
The sounds can come from either prerecorded sounds (snd resources) in a file, or you can record sounds real time using Farallon’s MacRecorder™.
HOW TO INVOKE: Command click on a picture to play the sound associated with that picture or to attach a sound if there is not one. Option click puts up a dialog allowing to remove the sound so that a new sound can be attached.
If the Macintosh is put in a different color mode (16 vs 256 colors or black and white) than the one when the sound was attached, it will no longer be recognized until the Mac is put back in the mode that it was when the sound was attached.
The sound will not get recognized if the picture gets resized as well.
This version will NOT allow to attach a sound to a picture. For examples that have sounds attached to pictures see the files that came with Read My Lips™.
FUTURE VERSIONS:
1) Will support PICS type animation files playing in the word processor
2) Cut and Paste (the sound goes along as well)
3) Compressed sounds, and additional sound sampling rates
4) Bugs will be removed from this version
